Description
These models must be fired with two hands to prevent injury from excess recoil
The RIFFE Blue Water Express Mid Handle wooden spearguns offer tremendous power from the 4 x 16mm power bands (can be upgraded to 5 power bands). The 4 power bands propel the 9.5mm shaft at bone shattering speed to penetrate even the largest of blue water pelagic fish. The shaft is fitted with a tri-cut slip-tip to further aid in penetrating through large pelagic fish. The slip-tip also minimises the chances of bending the spear as well as putting less load on the entry point of the spear when compared to a standard straight shaft. All these key points will help you land the fish of your dreams and minimise the chances of it getting away due to gear failure.
The gun is primarily stomach/hip loaded when loading up the power bands. At the rear of the mechanism, there is a safety pin that once in place prevents the speargun from shooting by accident. The shaft cable is set up as a breakaway system so you can hook your float and float line directly onto the breakaway speargun system. This way once you shoot the speargun the shaft and cable will disengage from the speargun and be attached to the float and float line. That way the gun remains with you incase you underestimate the fish you shoot and it takes your shaft and gear to the bottom of the ocean. So rather than losing your speargun and shaft and rigging you only lose the shaft and rigging,
The Riffe Blue Water Express is the most desirable speargun for blue water spearfishing. The front and rear wings add additional stability when shooting and also further increase the ballast to make the speargun handle better in the water. The front and rear wings also aid in the spearguns maneuverability compared to the full-length wing versions of blue water spearguns. This is the speargun of choice for those serious blue water hunters pursuing pelagic fish in the open ocean.
