The Riffe 5/16th (8mm) ice-pick is made from heat treated 17/4 stainless steel for increased durability and strength and to further minimise corrosion. The tip of the ice-pick has a razor-sharp tri-cut end to ensure bone-shattering penetration even through large-bodied fish. The Riffe ice-pick comes fitted with the tandem slide ring, ring-line assembly and shaft adapter/nipple.
The Riffe ice-pick is used on shafts to help minimise bending your shaft as well as minimising the chances of the shaft getting pulled out when spearing large powerful fish. Once the ice-pick has penetrated through the fish it will disengage from the shaft and secure against the fishes body. Now as the float line is pulled the shaft will pull through the fish and run alongside the fishes body reducing the pulling load at the point of entry on the fish. So due to the fish now having the cable through it and the shaft is now alongside the fishes body there is a far less chance of the spear bending or pulling out.
The Riffe ice-pick will help you secure that fish of a lifetime and minimise the chances of it being the one that got away.
