Description
The Riffe rear ballast wing kits are designed to reduce recoil of the speargun when it shoots. The rear wings are more important when shooting guns with 3 or more rubbers fitted to them as these style of guns kick a lot harder when shooting without rear ballast wings. The rear ballast wings help minimise the recoil kick to your wrist and improve accuracy when shooting at a distance. The rear ballast wings also aid in buoyancy to large timber style spearguns as they are generally set up with heavy thick stainless steel shafts. So the ballast wings help with buoyancy and aid in preventing the speargun being too heavy when loaded with a thick shaft. They are primarily for blue water hunting setup spearguns that use multiple rubbers to take down big fish. The 2nd photo shows an example of position on the RIFFE Island Mid Handle wood speargun and also shows the RIFFE front stabiliser wings.
Lead is not recommended as additional ballast when using this wing on Riffe Metal Tech Series spearguns.
