Rob Allen
The Rob Allen load assist helps when loading hard to load spearguns.
The Rob Allen loading assist is quiet simple in its design. It’s basically a standard speargun rubber with a dyneema bridle and at the centre point of the rubber there is a stainless steel hook. To use, you hook the hook onto your spearguns dyneema bridle and instead of loading back the spearguns rubber, you pull back on the load assist rubber. You then hook the load assist bridle into your spear notch. Now you can take a breath and now let go of the load assist rubber and grab the spearguns rubber either side of the bridle and pull it back to load it into the spear notch. As you pull back the spearguns rubber, the load assist will release and you can lock in the main spearguns rubber.
The main advantage of the assist is it provides you with a greater reach than when not using one. Plus it cuts down on the strength needed to load the speargun. This is ideal if you are injured or also very popular for females or juniors, but its main design was to load large Bluewater spearguns that have a long reach.
Once you loaded with the load assist you can place your arm through it pushing it up to your shoulder, otherwise some divers clip it to their belts when finished.
